HIGH FIVE
The 5  Solas of the Reformation
, 2026

Five hundred years ago, the Protestant Reformation brought the church back to several foundational truths of the gospel. These truths are often summarized in five Latin phrases known as the Five Solas, five “alones” that answer some of the most important questions we can ask.

Who has the final word? Where does salvation come from? How is it received? Who is sufficient to save? And what is all of life ultimately for?

In this five-message series, we’ll explore:

  1. Scripture Alone — God’s Word is our final authority.

  2. Grace Alone — Salvation is God’s undeserved gift.

  3. Faith Alone — We are made right with God through faith, not works.

  4. Christ Alone — Jesus is the only sufficient Savior and mediator.

  5. To God Alone Be the Glory — Salvation and all of life are ultimately for God’s glory.

These are not five disconnected doctrines. Together, they form one clear gospel confession:

According to Scripture alone, salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, for the glory of God alone.

Whether these phrases are familiar or completely new, this series will help you understand why they mattered during the Reformation, and why they still bring clarity, assurance, freedom, and hope today.
