What is
mats of love?

Mats of Love turns recycled plastic bags into sleeping mats that bring warmth and comfort to our homeless neighbors. Our prayer is that every mat shares God’s love and points people closer to Him.

WANT TO HELP?

There are 3 ways you can be part of Mats of Love:

  1. Collect and donate plastic shopping bags – Bring your used bags to our drop-off collection box, located under the front awning of our Gym behind the main church building.

  2. Make “plarn” balls – Plarn (plastic yarn) is made from recycled bags and serves as the building block for each mat.

  3. Crochet a mat – Crocheting takes more time and skill, but the finished mat is durable, practical, and deeply rewarding to create.

To get started, watch the two YouTube videos below for step-by-step guidance.

The DELCO Church Body

Many people who attend other churches in the DELCO area have donated supplies, made mats, or distributed mats. We are grateful for their support.
